About Yies

Youth in Emergency Services (YiES) Offers training for area students in disaster preparedness and responses. Youth in various high schools are trained to assist during major disaster should-to-shoulder with adult volunteers. Youth were instrumental in opening Red Cross emergency shelters during the Laguna Beach fires, and have helped during flooding and residential fires. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact David (714) 481-5395 or e-mail at youth@oc-redcross.org.

Not only is YiES a great way to help out in disasters and earn community service hours, it is also a whole lot of fun. All the members are really friendly and the officers, including myself, are extremely dedicated. We meet on the third Wednesday of every month. So if you need to earn some community service hours, but you also want to have a good time, then YiES is the group for you.

The next YiES meeting will be on November 14 from 6-8. Everyone including newbies are welcome.

The next YiES training will be on November 17-18. For the details please Contact David Nguyen at dnguyen@oc-redcross.org or (714) 481-5395
