Youth HIV/AIDS Volunteer Educators (Y-HAVE) is an Orange County Red Cross sponsored program committed to stopping the spread of HIV and AIDS in our community. In Y-HAVE, high school students are trained in the facts of these debilitating conditions in order to educate and make aware other youth and young adults. Y-HAVE volunteers currently give presentations to the OC Youth and Family Center, all levels of traditional schools, continuation schools, and juvenile halls throughout Orange County. Targeting those in the 12 to 24 year-old age group, Y-HAVE seeks to educate and to dispel misconceptions of the HIV virus among those most at risk for contracting HIV. Y-HAVE is also an excellent way for teenagers to build leadership and presentation skills in a society that demands such abilities. <-- Filler
